Design Engineer II
•Create new customer special order valve actuators and actuation system designs per
•customer requirements and specifications, and in accordance with company design standards.
•Develop pneumatic and hydraulic control systems to provide customer required functionality including schematic design and control component selection.
•Analyze engineering problems and recommend solutions
•Evaluate and develop design improvements and cost reductions for existing products
•Perform and check engineering calculations to verify product design
•Create new product design models in 3D CADD.
•Execute detailed component design, including tolerancing, material and surface treatment selection
•Create, monitor and evaluate test programs to verify/validate product performance
•Create, check, and maintain appropriate engineering documentation in support of a product design, in accordance with company procedures
•Provide the sales, operations, and marketing groups with technical assistance
•Communicate effectively with outside agencies to obtain product approval
•Four year Mechanical Engineering, BSME
•EIT desirable but not mandatory
•Three to six years of direct design experience as a Mechanical Engineer (in the valve & actuator, oilfield, or rotating equipment industries)
•Demonstrated ability to independently design mechanical components based on a keen understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, machining & assembly fit tolerances as well as kinematic & stress analysis
•Experience with 3D CAD software (preferably Solid-Edge)
•Demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Excel and/or MathCad software, as well as MS Office suite of products
•Effective communication and decision making abilities (mandatory)
